Wine, Women & Wisdom
Wine, Women & Wisdom is Beth Shir Shalom's Jewish women's group, gathering in Santa Monica for friendship, conversation, learning, and, of course, a little wine.
Inspired by Rosh Chodesh, the beginning of the Hebrew month, we create a sacred pause in our busy lives to sip, study, sing, and spend time together. Each gathering offers space for meaningful conversation, reflection, Jewish learning, and the chance to deepen our relationships with one another.

Men's Club
Beth Shir Shalom's Men's Club brings Jewish men together for friendship, fun, and community. From Cigars in the Sukkah and Poker Night to a Midwinter Night's Dram & Drash, Topgolf, beach volleyball, and opportunities to give back, there's always something on the calendar.
Come for an event. Meet some people. Have a drink, play a hand, take a hike, or do some good. Men's Club is an easy, low-pressure way to build friendships and find your place in our Jewish community.

Westside Jews
Westside Jews is a community for Jewish young adults in their 20s and 30s across Santa Monica and the Westside of Los Angeles. Created by Beth Shir Shalom and Kehillat Israel, Westside Jews makes it easy to meet new people, build friendships, and find your place in Jewish community.
From happy hours and comedy nights to Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, and everything in between, our gatherings are social, welcoming, and low-pressure. If hanging out with great people and doing Jewish sounds good to you, come join us.

Chavurot
Looking for a smaller community within our community? Beth Shir Shalom's chavurot are small Jewish social groups that bring people together around shared interests, experiences, or stages of life.
A chavurah might include new members, families with school-age children, singles, empty nesters, seniors, or simply people who enjoy spending time together. Each group creates its own rhythm, gathering every six to eight weeks for dinners, outings, Shabbat, Jewish holidays, and other experiences. We'll help you find your crew.

Social Action
Social Action is at the heart of our community. For years, we have partnered with local organizations like Food on Foot, Meals on Wheels, SMMUSD, and Jewish Family Services to help our unhoused neighbors and provide food to those in need.
Throughout the year, our Social Action team organizes volunteer opportunities, donation drives, advocacy, and learning that turn our Jewish values into action. Whether you have an hour to give or want to take on a larger role, there are meaningful ways to get involved.

Caring Committee
Jewish community means showing up for one another. Beth Shir Shalom's Caring Committee supports members of our Santa Monica synagogue community through life's celebrations, challenges, and transitions.
Whether someone has welcomed a new baby, is recovering from surgery, grieving a loss, or simply feeling lonely, our volunteers offer meals, rides, cards, visits, groceries, and a caring presence. Join us in making sure that no one in our community has to navigate life's biggest moments alone.

Interfaith Exchange
Beth Shir Shalom has a long history of building meaningful relationships across religious traditions. Our interfaith programs bring the Jewish community of Santa Monica into sustained conversation and friendship with partners including First Presbyterian Church of Santa Monica and Macedonia Baptist Church in Watts.
Rather than gathering for a single event, we build relationships over time through shared meals, study, worship, conversation, and service. Together, we encounter different perspectives, explore the wisdom and traditions we hold in common, learn from our differences, and practice the kind of relationship-building our divided world needs.

Grief & Caregiver Support Groups
No one should have to carry life's hardest moments alone. Beth Shir Shalom offers Jewish grief and caregiver support groups that create compassionate spaces to share what we're carrying with people who understand.
Our grief group supports those navigating the death of someone they love, while our caregiver group offers community for those caring for a spouse, parent, family member, or friend. Rooted in Jewish wisdom and the strength of community, these gatherings offer a place to listen, reflect, connect, and simply be with others walking a similar road.
